Grapes:
Moscato Rosa
The Moscato Rosa vines, a native aromatic variety of the Alto Adige, grow at an altitude of 250 meters in a well ventilated area in the municipality of Egna. The wind is essential to prevent the standstill of humidity which would cause the development of mould such as Botrytis. For this very delicate variety, the development of Botrytis must be avoided, because its presence would cause a reduction in
the intensity of the colour and would notably reduce the aromatic components. The land selected for Moscato Rosa are south and south west facing, and are made up of a mixture of porphyry, sand, clay and chalk.
The grapes made into red wine are steeped for only a few days to avoid the extraction of too astringent tannins. Once the desired characteristics are reached, the fermentation is interrupted by refrigeration and filtration, and the young wine is then transferred into steel tanks where it remains until bottling.
Color and Nose:
Moscato Rosa is a bright ruby red, with fragrances of a lively freshness and an intense aromatic bouquet with notes of rose, cloves, cinnamon and orange peel.
Taste:
On the palate the wine charms with a complexity and elegant structure and a fascinating interplay between acidity, sweetness and tannin.
Food pairing:
Moscato Rosa is a very special wine which lends itself to extravagant pairings and as a wine for reflection. It goes very well with dry chocolate and Linzer cakes, and chocolate based desserts.
