AREA OF PRODUCTION: The vineyards of the Castelvecchio estate, on the hills of Terricciola in the province of Pisa.

VINEYARDS: Vine density of 2207 vines per acre (5434 vines/hectare), cultivated using the Guyot method

GRAPEVINES: 100% Sangiovese

GRAPE HARVEST: All grapes are hand-picked and placed in small crates in which they are taken to the winery where they are promptly de-stemmed. The Sangiovese is harvested in the second half of September.

VINTAGE METHOD: After having skinned the grapes only a few hours after their careful separation from the vine, the must of the red grapes is kept temperature controlled. Purification of the sediment is done in steel vats.
