Viticultural Practices: this wine is made from certified organic grapes from vineyards that are farmed according to biodynamic methods of viticulture (Demeter certification).
Grape variety: Gewürztraminer.
Description: brilliant, straw-yellow colour with light orange reflections. Pronounced, complex aroma showing obvious late harvest characteristics (botrytis). Notes of ripe tropical fruit combined with floral and herbal undertones and an elegant touch of citrus fruit. Full-bodied, vinous with a grapey flavour, dry. Long, fresh aftertaste with a characteristic deli- cate bitter twist. When properly cellared, this wine may be kept for at least 3 to 5 years.
Suggested foods: with well flavored starters such as sausages, pâté and terrines, grilled fish and seafood, Asian food, cheeses.
Origin: selected parcels owned by the Alois Lageder Winery located on the scree of Magrè and in Termeno at an altitude of 240 - 370 metres a.s.l. (780 - 1200 feet). Soils are sandy, gravelly with high content of limestone. Warm mesoclimate with large temperature variations between day and night.
Age of the vines: 9 - 23 years.
Yield: 60 hl / ha.
Vinification: soft crushing and pressing of the grapes, spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks, maturation for approximately six months on the lees.
Alcohol: 14.5 % by vol.
Acidity: 4.9 g / litre.
