THE HISTORY OF CANTINA DI VICOBARONE
Cantina of Vicobarone was born in 1960 in Vicobarone of Ziano Piacentino in the Val Tidone valley.
Today it has more or less 330 associated grapes producers who give to cantina Vicobarone their best selection of grapes coming from the DOC Colli Piacentini and Oltrepo Pavese area.
They produce high quality products not only because of the traditional way of vinification of the best grapes but also because of the use of modern machinery and because of the careful control of the production made by expert winemakers.
Vicobarone wants to improve the quality of its products but it wants also to respect the tipicity and the tradition of the territory, and this is the �secret� of their wines.
Cantina Vicobarone, going on with its project of quality and tipicity has reached a high level of appreciation in the market and a great number of international prizes, as for example Malvasia Doc Spumante sweet which has rerceived the bronze medal at Vinitaly and at Bordeaux fair too.
The winemakers in Vicobarone are trying every day to improve the quality and the production creating a strong cooperation between the producers and the cellar which vinifies their grapes.
For example, in 2005 they have presented two new wines: Passito of Malvasia di Candia and a china aromatized wine based on Gutturnio (called Retro).
They sell their production all over Italy not only through GDO and Horeka channel but they also have a strong distribution thank to the shops that the cellar owns in different part of Italy.
