Moscato Rosa: Muscat Rose à Petits Grains is a reddish mutation of the yellow Muscat and in South Tyrol and Trentino it is permitted under DOC law. (Controlled Designation of Origin) The Muscat Rose à Petits Grains is cultivated as a typical sweet wine. When fresh it has a strong scent, but as it ages it is more structured and elegant.
Just like the sweet wine, Dolomiti Moscato grappa is ideal when served with dessert. This particular specialty from the distillery Zu Plun is distilled of pomace and grapes from the Vineyard Waldgries, and ages for two years in barriques.
Stylistics: On the nose: a hint of raspberry, mango, and vanilla, but warm and balanced. On the palate: supple and fruity, full-bodied and smooth, but with a good balance between the sweetness and nutmeg.
