Notes The Coteaux Champenois Rouge is a still red wine produced in Champagne. 2016 is the first vintage in which the Maison Henri Giraud produced a Coteaux Champenois Rouge. The wine is a 100% Pinot Noir produced with grapes grown exclusively in the Grand Cru village of Ay.
The wine is fermented in new wooden barrels from the Argonne forest and aged for 15 months in cask.
It is an elegant Pinot Noir, of medium structure and excellent aromatic intensity with notes of raspberry, red fruits and mint. The calcareous terroir of Aÿ stands out in the marked minerality and flavor of the wine.
As is typical of the maison, the vineyards were not treated with herbicides or pesticides.
It is a very rare wine, only 2004 bottles were produced in the 2016 vintage.
