Golan Heights Winery is located in Galilee, in the city of Katzrin, on the homonymous heights. Golan Heights Winery immediately distinguished itself for the production of kosher wines of great value, mainly produced on volcanic soils, strongly bound to tradition: their brands Yarden, Gamla, Golan and Hermon have labels depicting the oil lamp symbol of the ancient state of Israel. YARDEN is the flagship winery of the group: its name originates from the Hebrew translation of Jordan river. The first wine produced was, in 1984, Sauvignon Blanc. GOLAN takes its name from Golan Heights, formed by remote volcanic eruptions. Its wines are produced in order to satisfy a young consumption, attentive to quality. GAMLA wines take their name from an ancient city passed to history for having tried to stop the Roman advancement towards Jerusalem. HERMON wines take their name from the mountainous massif on the border between Israel, Syria and Lebanon, whose highest peak reaches 2,814 meters (8,814 ft). HERMON wines are complex and full bodied.
