Merkki: Château Pajzos
Pakkaus : 0,5 l.
Alkoholiprosentti : 11%
Region: Tokaj, Hungary
Grapes: Furmint, Harslevelu
Service temperature: 10-12ºC
The term "Aszù" identifies the grapes affected by the fungus "botrytis cinerea", sometimes even withered by the sun. The grapes are selected manually, they are picked one by one in the vineyard in several steps until mid-November. These berries are placed in "puttony", typical Hungarian pannier-like containers, also used as a unit of measure. One puttonía corresponds to 20 kg of botrytised grapes added to 100 liters of white wine. The greater the number of puttonyos, the sweeter the wine. In the case of the Aszú 5 puttonyos wine, 100 kg of botrytized grapes are added to 100 liters of white wine. After a few hours of maceration, this blend is gently pressed and then the wine ages for at least 2 years, in Hungarian oak barrels.
Tasting Notes: Golden color. Complex and aromatic. Rich in notes of botrytis, aromas of honey, apricots and toffee emerge on the palate. Long finish and aging potential.
Pairings: It goes well with desserts, especially with lemon or apricot tart or walnut cakes. Exceptional when accompanied with duck and game dishes.
