Casa Ramos Pinto is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries producing Port wine. Founded at the end of the nineteenth century, in 1880 to be exact, the company was born thanks to the initiative of the founders of the family, Adriano and Antonio Ramos Pinto, who quickly succeeded in making the winery an important reference point for all the producers of Douro, thanks to the innovative strategies followed and thanks to the indisputable quality of its wines.
The pioneering spirit of the origins, however, has never been exhausted nor weakened, indeed, it has been kept unchanged in time, allowing the Portuguese winery to be in the forefront not only in the work in the vineyard and in the cellar, but also in the commercial field, thanks to brilliant ideas such as the advertising campaign in Art Nouveau style. In order to make sure the best quality of grapes, Ramos Pinto has meticulously studied soils and varieties of grapes to be used for its wines, getting to control the whole process by acquiring many properties.
Currently there are little less than two hundred hectares of vineyards - 187 to be precise - located in the Alto Corgo and Douro Superiore areas, both suited for a particular and specific type of wine. Among the rows of vines there is the highest respect for nature, ecosystem and biodiversity, therefore by adopting wise and careful agronomic choices, the final goal is always to harvest healthy, valuable and rich grapes. In the winery, the strong point is certainly given by the strong connection with the cultural and artistic environment based on the always vivid belief, now as in the beginning, that appreciating a good wine is also and above all a cultural act. Lastly, in 1990 Casa Ramos Pinto became part of the French group Louis Roederer - specialized in Champagne - acquiring an international soul.
From Port White to Port Tawny, passing by Ruby, as well as the range of Ports aged for more than ten years, they are all wines, the ones from Casa Ramos Pinto, which will certainly give you satisfaction.
